Analysis of similar media products.

The music video we will be creating, currently does not have an existing video to compare to but it can still be compared with the use of words and beats comparing the similarities and differences.

This is the song that the group I am in will be creating a music video for. This song again just like fireworks has a lot of meaning which means the audience can relate to the lyrics. Also both the songs have a similar entrance by starting off with a instrumental. A difference between the two songs is that viva la vida is at times more upbeat than fireworks. Both song have similar instrumentals to them aswell so this again is what makes them similar. With this music video it uses the conventions from Andrew Goodwin's theory, this is done by alot of close up of the lead signer in the band. This show band identity which is promoting them alot.
In this song aswell there are alot of performanced based shots, by watching this as a group we have decided that we will try and do some shots like this.

This song can be very similar to 'fireworks' because both song are very soulful and are about certain issues. The backing tune is different in ways that it is tune and performed but they relate to each other because of the way the tune relate to the song and fits in well. The lyrics in both song speak out to the audience. The difference between the two is that the script are more pop than they are rock but could be mistaken as more of a rock band by the audience because of the instrumentals. Again this video follows the conventions of Andrew Goodwin's theory by showing alot of close up shots of the lead signer and basing the video around them. Again with this song being in the same genre as the song we will be doing it seems that the audience expect to see alot of shot of the band so we will aim to use these conventions in our music video.

Both band Blink 182 and You me at six are similar in the way they conduct themselves. They are both very popular within the 'emo' and 'Gothic' society. With the songs they play similar tunes where as the beats are gentle and soft but towards the end of the song the become more powerful and louder to the audience. Also both lead singers have a similar voice and alot of there songs can be compared with each other in they ways they sing and play.
When watching this music video it seems to show a story behind the song aswell as having shots of the band performing. This gives a sense that the record label who produce the video think that the band are already well known by their target audience.
